COORDINATED
ATTACK ON MALIAN CITIES
Last
Saturday the jihadists attacked all the major
cities in Mali simultaneously. The attacks have been
ongoing since then. A few days ago the Malian defense
minister was killed when they attacked the military
base near Bamako. Now ISIS has joined Al-Qaeda
in the fight against the Malian government and military. Their
goal is to take control of the country and institute
sharia law.
To
that end the jihadists have been doing sudden attacks,
putting up road blocks and killing all civilians in their sight
as they accuse the population of cooperating with the Malian
government. So far six Christians from our churches
have been killed. Now
the jihadist spokesperson has announced that Bamako
is under siege and that they will not allow anyone
to enter the city.
Contrary
to what I have thought, Paul has NOT YET moved to our
center in Bamako even though he's been meaning to do
so since Christmas. His children's school has been demanding
we'd pay for the whole school year even though they are moving
away, and Paul has wanted to resolve this situation first. We're
behind on all school fees as we have not had the money to pay
them. Now it's a question of life and death,
so Paul is moving to our base this Sunday.
PLEASE PRAY for his safety, that they are able
to make the move.
Pray
also for our center and for our churches and the believers,
as well as all of Mali. Pray for things to be turned around
so it does not come to the worst.
Pray
also for financial provision. The power situation has
worsened even more, so that we have even less than 6 hours of
electrity every day and no water as the time is too short to
fill up our water tower.
